MAP Group VietnamSearch Strategy for a New Market Entry
MAP Group is building a new website for the Vietnamese market. This is the search strategy that turns that launch into visibility, across six service lines, with real competitor data and the AI Overviews already answering these queries without MAP Group in the room.
“Saigon Digital transformed how Ski.com shows up online. Beyond rebuilding our platform, they helped us rethink our entire search and AI visibility strategy. We saw a significant uplift in organic traffic, our content started appearing in AI generated travel recommendations, and the quality of inbound leads improved dramatically. They understand where digital discovery is heading and how to turn visibility into real commercial results.”

The window for MAP Group to own this category is open, and it is closing
A Global Reputation, Zero Local Search History
MAP Group enters Vietnam with a global reputation and no local search footprint. The Korean site, mapgroup.co.kr, is not meaningfully indexed for a single Vietnamese query, and there is no Google Search Console or Analytics installed to measure a baseline. That is not unusual for an international firm entering this market. What matters is what happens from here.
At the same time, Vietnamese buyers already research vendors through AI. Three of the core queries a MAP Group prospect would type are already being answered, live, today, through Google AI Overviews. None of the sources cited are a project-proven design and engineering firm. That is the opening this strategy is built around.
Traditional SEO
- Focus on rankings and traffic volume
- Keyword stuffing and backlink count
- Compete for 10 blue links
- Brand-dependent visibility
- Static service pages
AI & SEO Visibility
- Focus on recommendation and authority
- Structured content clarity and entity definition
- Be cited as the trusted source
- Non-branded keyword coverage
- Clear positioning language AI can parse
For a project of MAP Group’s scale, the buyer is not doing a casual Google search and clicking the first ad. They are verifying a shortlist, one an AI tool may have already helped narrow. This strategy’s job is to make sure MAP Group is one of the names that shortlist survives with.
Three Queries. Three Live AI Overviews. Zero Design Firms Cited.

The Critical Window
Vietnam is one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-moving AI adoption markets, and Vietnamese B2B buyers have leapfrogged a lot of traditional search behaviour. Most marketing decision-makers in HCMC now run a company through ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity somewhere in their agency and vendor shortlisting. The three queries above show the AI layer is already live for MAP Group’s category. The window to be the source it cites is open now, and it closes as soon as a competitor’s content fills it first.

MAP Group: Digital Snapshot
A snapshot of where the MAP Group brand stands today across key organic search metrics, globally, before the Vietnamese site exists.
Pre-Launch Opportunity
MAP Group’s Vietnamese site does not exist yet, and that is the opportunity, not the obstacle. Every decision made during the build, URL structure by service line, hreflang, schema, redirect planning, either sets up the next 12 months of rankings or creates technical debt we have to unwind later. The earlier SEO is looped into the build, the faster the new site earns authority instead of starting from zero twice.
Demand & Fit, By Service Line
MAP Group is entering Vietnam across six service lines. Search demand and competitive difficulty vary sharply between them, and the highest-volume categories are not the best fit.
| Service Line | Monthly Demand (VN) | Competitive Field | Fit for MAP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Architecture | 880/mo | Small residential / villa studios | Weak, wrong peer set |
| Housing development | No measurable volume | Government, developer-owned project sites | Not a search-driven category |
| Interior | 18,100/mo | Highly fragmented residential / furniture studios | Weak, wrong peer set |
| Development & planning | 10–20/mo | Real planning institutes (VIUP, SISP, VCC) | Strong, closest real peer set |
| Urban design / master plan | 210–1,300/mo | Government / legal sources + 1 recurring firm | Good, matches public-housing work |
| Engineering services | 210–1,600/mo | Career sites, a few real consultancies, steel contractors | Strong, easy wins, fragmented field |
Who’s Actually Ranking Today
Live Ahrefs data for the credible consultancies in MAP Group’s best-fit categories. This is a beatable field, not an established one.
| Domain | Type | Domain Rating | Organic Keywords | Est. Traffic | Ref. Domains |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| viup.vn | State-linked architecture & investment institute | 18 | 50 | 325 | 460 |
| sisp.vn | State planning institute, Southern Vietnam | 0.1 | 42 | 108 | 440 |
| vcc.com.vn | 350-staff engineering & planning firm | 21 | 15 | 843 | 509 |
| victorycons.com.vn | Real consultancy, appears across 2 categories | 27 | 174 | 916 | 1,964 |

The Peer-Set Decision
Architecture and Interior are the two highest-volume categories, and the two worst fits. Both are owned by small residential and villa studios, and by “Top 10” listicle sites, not a peer set at MAP Group’s scale. Development & Planning, Urban Design, and Engineering Services are lower-volume but the real opening: VIUP, SISP, VCC and Victory Cons are staffed, credible consultancies MAP Group can out-execute online, none of them past DR 27 or roughly 175 ranking keywords. That is a beatable field.

Saigon Digital does not just sell AI & SEO visibility, we run this exact playbook on our own agency. Ask ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity who the best SEO agency in Saigon is and we appear first. Here is how that translates to commercial results.

The Same Playbook for MAP Group
MAP Group’s category runs the same play: Vietnamese buyers checking a shortlist through AI before they call. We rank for “best SEO agency in Saigon” by doing exactly what this proposal recommends for MAP Group, clear service-line pages, real project proof, structured schema, and a GEO practice that tracks AI citations as a KPI, not an afterthought.
How Do We Get There?
A five-part strategy for MAP Group Vietnam
The Plan
Each part runs in parallel and compounds into the others. This is also the answer to “what do we get each month”, these are the recurring, ongoing workstreams of the retainer.
Technical SEO
- Vietnamese primary, English secondary, correct hreflang
- Clean URL structure by service line, set before indexing
- Organization + ProfessionalService + Project schema
- Image pipeline for portfolio-heavy pages (Core Web Vitals)
Website Content
- Six service-line pages, one per business line
- Flagship pillar page: industrial / factory design, built from real projects
- Portfolio case studies localised from the Korean site
- Credentials and licensing page, for trust in a high-stakes category
Digital PR & Links
- VN business registration and NAP consistency, LinkedIn VN presence
- Citations in construction and industrial real-estate directories
- Press placements around foreign investment in VN industrial parks
PPC + SEO Synergy
- Paid search on high-intent commercial terms (báo giá, tư vấn) while organic ramps
- Retargeting for site visitors from portfolio and case-study pages
- PPC query data fed back into organic content targeting
GEO, AI Search Visibility
- All three sampled queries already trigger a live AI Overview, none cite a design and engineering firm
- A flagship page with clear process, standards, and a real project reference is a live citation opportunity
- Same approach extended to the master-plan and CM / supervision queries as those pages gain authority
- AI citation tracked quarterly, alongside organic rankings
12-Month Goals
Tracked in Google Search Console from the day it is installed, alongside a manual quarterly AI-citation check.
| Goal | Target | Metric |
|---|---|---|
| Flagship ranking | Top 5 for “thiết kế nhà xưởng công nghiệp” + 3 variants | GSC position |
| Service-line coverage | Top 10 for engineering / CM / supervision terms | GSC position |
| Planning credibility | Appear alongside VIUP / SISP / VCC for planning-consultancy queries | GSC position |
| Master-plan cluster | Top 10 for “quy hoạch tổng mặt bằng”, “thiết kế đô thị” | GSC position |
| Organic visibility | Indexed and ranking across all 6 service pages | GSC coverage report |
| Brand verification | Positive branded-search growth for “MAP Group Việt Nam” | GSC branded clicks |

Vietnam Is Moving Fast, And So Are Its Buyers
Why this window matters now, not in 12 months.
Vietnam is one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-moving AI adoption markets. The window to claim AI-cited authority is open right now, but it is closing. Vietnamese B2B buyers have leapfrogged a lot of traditional search behaviour, most marketing decision-makers in HCMC now use ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity somewhere in their agency and vendor shortlisting. AI does not just answer queries, it shapes the shortlist before a single discovery call happens.
The Window Is Now
None of this requires MAP Group to out-market larger, better-funded local firms. It requires being the clearest, most structured, most-cited source in a field that, outside Interior and Architecture, is more fragmented and more beatable than the Korean or Malaysian markets MAP Group already knows.
Investment
Scoped to your ambition and budget for this market entry
Scoped To What You’re Ready To Run
No figures on this page by design. The right monthly scope depends on your budget, whether paid search runs alongside organic, and how the website timeline lands, all of which is worth working out in conversation, not a spreadsheet line. Here is how the engagement is structured once we agree on scope.
The ROI Perspective
The real cost is not the retainer, it is the compounding cost of the three AI Overviews above continuing to answer without MAP Group in them, while a Vietnamese competitor’s content fills that gap first.
Let’s Shape the Scope Together
This document covers strategy, process, and outcomes on purpose, investment is a conversation, not a line item, and depends on the scope you want to run and how it lines up with the website build. Bring your budget range and whether you’re considering paid search, and we’ll shape it to fit in today’s conversation.
